Set in the late 19th century in a New York state. Whilst much enthusiasm grows amongst the elite of society in New York about the invention of the electric light bulb,

a local doctor has been working on his own new electrical device. The reason for his new invention is to treat female hysteria but his first female emerges from the session glowing and extremely eager to pay the doctor and the machine another visit.

My thinking behind the designs was that I wanted to find a solution of bringing the electric light bulb and female figure together to create an image that would combine the two elements in a sophisticated way. The result was to use the iconic corset shape to act as the element in the electric light bulb.
